Experience
1
Initial Assessment:
We explore what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with.
How Therapy Works
2
Shared Understanding and Goals:
We develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and agree on goals and a plan for therapy.
3
Therapeutic Work:
We work together using evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs, focusing on understanding, coping strategies, and meaningful change.
Therapy begins with an initial consultation, where we explore what has brought you or your child to seek support and what you would like to work on. This is also an opportunity for you or your child to ask questions and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
If we decide to continue, we will work collaboratively to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and identify meaningful goals for therapy.
Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and may involve exploring patterns of thinking, emotions, relationships, and life experiences, as well as developing practical strategies for change.
I draw on evidence-based psychological approaches including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) informed
These are used flexibly depending on your needs and goals.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes
Therapy can be offered online or in-person (if applicable)
Confidentiality is maintained in line with professional and ethical guidelines
